We often hear people talk about mindsets, but what are they? Simply put, your mindset is your view or stance you take in life. Your mindset is key to your happiness, fulfillment, and personal and professional growth. Your mindset can keep you trapped or allow you to be free. Most times, we sum up mindsets to a glass half-full vs. glass half-empty kind of person. We also hear the terms growth mindsets vs. fixed mindsets. However, at the end of the day, it really does not matter what you call it as long as you develop an Opportunity Mindset!
The Webster dictionary defines opportunity as, “an appropriate or favorable time or occasion”. Imagine how much better life would be if instead of seeing a problem or failure, you saw a favorable time to take action. You always saw an opportunity to lead, to grow, to learn, to be better, or to show your greatness. When you learn to always see opportunity, life will become more fulfilling and things around you can change for the better.
As for leaders, you must learn to see opportunity in every aspect of the organization. You have to lead from that place and be okay holding your constituents to an Opportunity Mindset. You do not ignore the obvious, but rather acknowledge it and use it to your advantage. If the leader does not have an Opportunity Mindset; how can you really move the organization forward? You will stay stuck in the same place year after year.
LOUD leaders see everyday as an opportunity to get LOUD! They see everyday as an opportunity to pursue greatness; one day becoming great! Enjoy the process and enjoy Getting LOUD!
